Medical Assistants in our office are an integral part of the care we provide and are highly valued. We prioritize individuals with experience, however we have valuable team members who started directly after completing their M.A. degree. Kindness to patients, respect toward colleagues, and openness to constructive feedback is essential. If you are friendly and detail oriented and enjoy being part of a team delivering patient centered care, we encourage you to apply.
The Medical Assistant in our office is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the medical office, both front office and back office.
- Direct patient care (back office) tasks include administering immunizations, obtaining vital signs, performing EKG’s, assisting in minor procedures, and processing patient samples such as urine specimens, pap smears, and throat cultures.
- Front office tasks include but are not limited to, triaging patient phone calls, refilling prescriptions, assisting with prior authorizations and scheduling of patients. General insurance knowledge and familiarity with electronic medical records, medical terminology and ICD-10 and CPT coding are a must.
Typical shifts are 4, 10-hour days per week, though there is room for discussion if a 5-day, 8-hour schedule is preferred. No late evening or weekend shifts. Dependability is essential.
